Moore endorses Jimmy Carter's energy policies of the 1970's, but can
Kansans survive more high gas prices, shortages, and long lines?
After 10 years of inaction and bad energy policies, Congressman Dennis Moore says he now has an energy plan—Jimmy Carter’s energy plan.
Apparently he’s not joking. Recently, Moore wrote the following to supporters:
"Our current energy crisis is not only a challenge, it is also a great opportunity. It's an opportunity to finally do what President Carter urged us to do thirty years ago...."
Today’s Kansas City Star Prime Buzz reports, "Moore said he wished the nation had embraced Democratic President Jimmy Carter's efforts to implement aggressive energy policies in the 1970s."
Moore and his partisan colleagues aren’t just out of touch, they’re out of date. Do we really want to go back to the Carter era? Somehow, I don’t think gas shortages and long lines at the pump are what Americans have in mind when calling for change.
