Dennis Moore has a history of stopping innovation dead in its tracks.
The dictionary defines innovation as "the act of innovating; introduction of new things or methods." And while Dennis Moore isn't listed as an antonym, he might as well be.
Earlier this year, Moore voted repeatedly against consideration of a bill that would lift a ban on the federal government acquiring certain alternative fuels including oil shale and liquefied coal (House Votes: 451, 449, 453, 462).
These alternative fuels and the innovative technology used to produce them could be among the keys to weaning ourselves off foreign oil. Yet, time and again, Dennis Moore has stood in the way of progress and American-made energy.
