Dennis Moore to Nancy Pelosi: Mother, may I?
Looks like Dennis Moore needed a change of vacation scenery and found it in Denver at the Democratic National Convention, hanging out with Nancy Pelosi and other partisan pals who are taking a vacation from serious discussion of energy policy.
Moore’s approach to energy policy seems simple: support Nancy Pelosi’s position of the day on the subject. When Pelosi indicated she might allow a vote on off-shore drilling, Moore said he might consider the same thing. Now that she’s backing away from off-shore drilling, Moore says “We can't drill our way out of this problem."
Congressman Moore votes with Speaker Pelosi 97% of the time, so their parallel positions aren’t surprising. But the least they can do is make up their minds.
Voters are tired of politicians in Congress who stick a finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing with party leadership and special interests. They want the kind of real leadership and decisive action Nick Jordan is ready to provide.
