I had the great privilege this morning to attend and participate in the dedication of a new Veterans Memorial in Lenexa. Several hundred other folks joined in honoring the millions of young men and women who have selflessly answered their Country’s call to service. This dedication gave each of us the opportunity to reflect on the challenges facing our servicemen and women fighting for freedom throughout the World.With the enormity of the obstacles facing our men and women in uniform on a daily basis, it’s imperative that their representatives and government work together to provide them all the resources they need to be successful and not using the funding of those resources to play political games .
It is my hope that Congress and elected officials everywhere honor the sacrifices of those who serve by tackling the critical issues facing our country. This Memorial Day, I would like to personally thank all those who have served, past and present, especially those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice to make America the beacon of freedom for the world.
