There’s an old rule of thumb that says, “Follow the money.” Let’s try it out.
Dennis Moore has received over 2 million dollars from financial institutions, including nearly $30,000 from Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. He has also spent the past ten years on the committee charged with overseeing those institutions and others.
That committee’s failure to provide proper oversight created our current economic mess. Now, Moore has voted to spend $700 billion in taxpayer money to pay to fix his and Congress's mistakes.
Could it be that Dennis Moore, who received more money from Freddie Mac than the entire Kansas Congressional delegation combined, is being influenced by Washington lobbyists for these failed financial institutions?
This “follow the money” game is interesting.

DENNIS MOORE: 10-YEARS OF INACTION & BAD POLICIES - NOW IT'S TOO, LITTLE TOO LATE
The majority leader of congress was in town today for a Dennis Moore fundraiser—helping out a partisan ally despite the looming economic crisis, and the failure of Congress to act on a real solution to fix the problem their policies created.
Nick Jordan stopped by to hold a press conference outside the event, where he explained Moore’s and Congress’s many economic failures, and spoke the plain truth:
"Dennis Moore and our broken Congress have failed to hold these financial giants accountable. Now it's time to hold Dennis Moore and Congress accountable…Kansans need someone in Congress who will fight for every hard working taxpayer and not be afraid to hold people's feet to the fire." - Nick Jordan

A QUICK FIX IS NO FIX
Dennis Moore and Congress shouldn’t just vote for a quick fix. There are three basic principles that need to be addressed before anything is voted on:
1) Wall Street needs to take its lumps. Big wigs should not be allowed to make money on taxpayer dollars used to bail them out.
2) Any solution Moore agrees to needs to protect Kansas families who aren’t responsible for this mess.
3) Show prudence and don’t just rush headlong into a nearly trillion dollar bailout.

NICK JORDAN’S STATEMENT ON THE FINANCIAL CRISIS
Here are some key excerpts from today’s statement by Nick Jordan on America’s financial crisis:
“At the core of the financial problems facing our nation is the failure of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. These two government sponsored enterprises have been propped up by Congress for years. This includes Dennis Moore, who has served on the House Financial Services Committee for ten years and who’s received over $30,000 in contributions from them."
“After gimmicky accounting, Fannie and Freddie, through some strong lobbying succeeded in getting the ability to substantially increase the number of high-risk loans. This paved the way for the collapse of these government backed financial institutions that has brought us to where we are today.” - Nick Jordan

House Democrats are Returning Money from Charlie Rangel, Will Dennis Moore do the Same?
JORDAN CALLS ON MOORE TO RETURN RANGEL MONEY
Today, Nick placed a phone call to voters asking them to ask Dennis Moore about his continued support of New York Congressman Charlie Rangel, despite Rangel’s history of ethical problems.
Nick is also calling on Moore to return thousands of dollars in campaign contributions that have come from Rangel, following the lead of Iowa democrat Dave Loebsack who—according to a today story from Politico—has donated the $5000 he received from Rangel to various Iowa non-profit organizations.
Nick said, “Dennis Moore can no longer hide behind the protection of his own party. Now, even his democratic colleagues are acknowledging Rangel’s ethical lapses and giving away his donations. Time for Dennis Moore to step up and do the same.”

Dennis Supports Nancy Pelosi's Sham Energy Bill
Late last night after rejecting a comprehensive energy bill that had strong bipartisan support, Dennis Moore once again fell in line with his party leadership, voting in support of Nancy Pelosi’s sham energy bill. This bill imposes a permanent ban on off-shore drilling inside of 50 miles - where nearly 90% of American oil reserves exist.
With just days remaining before Congress’s Offshore Drilling Ban expires on September 30th, Nancy Pelosi and Dennis Moore figured out how to make the ban permanent while pulling the wool over the American people’s eyes.

NICK JORDAN RELEASES 2nd TV AD
Simple logic escapes Congress.
Nick’s second television ad started airing this morning. It focuses on the state of the economy, the struggles of Kansas families, and Congress’ very confusing response—a $683 billion tax increase.
This year, Dennis Moore voted multiple times for a federal budget that paves the way for the largest tax hike in American history. The average 3rd District taxpayer would lose an additional $2,422 a year out of their family budget.
Also, as a Budget Committee architect of this historic tax increase, Moore voted specifically to raise taxes on each child in a family by cutting the $1000 per Child Tax Credit in half. Dennis Moore's Tax Hike would also reinstate the Marriage Penalty tax and bring back the Death Tax, eventually raising it to more than 50% of a grieving family's inherited assets.
We don’t need “Moore" of the same from tired politicians and a broken system in Congress. Let’s send Nick Jordan to Washington and get some real solutions that help American families rather than burdening them with additional taxes.

NICK JORDAN ROLLS OUT AD CAMPAIGN
Nick Jordan takes his message into local living rooms.
Nick rolled out his first television ad today. It continues his "Energy Solutions for a Stronger Economy" message that has sparked widespread appeal among independent and swing voters in the 3rd District and united the Kansas GOP.
Unlike Dennis Moore, an entrenched incumbent who has consistently voted against American-made energy, Nick believes in a full and balanced approach to energy solutions to address high gas prices and help ease the financial strain on small business owners, truckers, farmers, and families across the district.
It's time to "Wake up Washington!" Let’s send Nick Jordan to Congress.

DAY 32 AMERICA HELD HOSTAGE BY FOREIGN OIL WHILE MOORE AND CONGRESS VACATION
Another holiday weekend comes and goes with Americans struggling
financially, unable to afford a family vacation!
As Dennis Moore and Nancy Pelosi continued their vacation into Labor Day, AAA was estimating a decline in travel for the holiday weekend this year. That means fewer people took trips to see grandparents or spend time at the lake with loved ones—due, in part, to continued high gas prices.
That’s sad, but even sadder is how high fuel prices have affected farmers, truckers, small business owners, and the ability of Kansas families to simply put food on the table. Moore and Pelosi have failed to do anything to address these issues, ultimately supporting policies that have made the situation worse.
This election is about reform and change in Washington. I understand that and I am ready to lead and take action in Congress just as I have as a family man, a small business owner, and a proud member of the Kansas Senate. I'm ready to go to bat for Kansas families who have been hit hard in their pocketbooks.

NANCY PELOSI AND DENNIS MOORE'S CONGRESS GETS 9 PERCENT JOB APPROVAL... AGAIN
More bad grades for Congress...
A recent Rasmussen poll brings us the sad news that Congress tied its record-low 9% approval rating. The poll also finds that only 11% of Americans believe that this Congress has passed legislation that improves life in the country.
With so many Americans hurting over high gas prices, many scrape by paycheck to paycheck. It's no wonder they're fed up with Washington and its get-nothing-done bickering. People want solutions and they're not seeing any from Congress.
Kansans understand that we need to shake up the status quo. We need to wake up Washington. I want to go to Congress and fight for Kansas families—people who want to Wake up Washington for a new day in America.
